Arketype Has Advertising Professionals Seeing Red

Red Addy Awards

(Green Bay, WI) Arketype, an award-winning, multi-disciplinary design firm based in Green Bay, has met the challenge of turning an often-predictable annual event into the hottest ticket in town by literally painting the town red.

Arketype principals Jim Rivett and Paul Meinke, along with Bobbie Schultz and staff, have partnered with the Green Bay Ad Fed and the Advertising Association of the Fox Valley to stage this year’s ADDY Awards, an evening honoring the best work by the area’s advertising and design community. While it’s always an occasion for participants to show off their creativity through their submissions, this year’s event will be an exercise in creativity by itself. The central theme for the event is simply “Red,” and to promote the event, four hundred individually hand painted and signed posters were distributed and a dynamic Flash Web site was launched: http://www.arketypeinc.com/red/.

On the night of the event, “Red” will be all around, from the handmade centerpieces featuring red splattered paint cans to stage props made from old TVs to program booklets made from leftover posters. “We're creating an event,” Rivett said. “Everything will have a raw, distressed quality.”

The “Red” ADDY Awards will be held on Friday, February 27 at the Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay. The evening starts off with the traditional reception, dinner and awards ceremony, but will be followed by the not-so-traditional afterparty with guest band “The Groove Hogs”.

To go along with the “Red” theme, attendees are asked to wear black with one red accessory.

The public is welcome to join the afterparty at 10 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. Ages 21 and older please.

“We want it to be a fun night out with an underground club scene feel,” Rivett says.

Arketype Inc is in its eleventh year of solving the marketing challenges of consumer brand and business-to-business companies through brand design and print and interactive communications. The firm was recently honored by Graphic Design:usa magazine with eight 2003 American Graphic Design Awards for excellence in communications and graphic design. (www.arketypeinc.com).
